5 hikes to do around Lake Annecy this summer

Spending your holidays on the shores of Lake Annecy also means taking advantage of numerous hiking opportunities for all ages and all levels, with always, at the bend of a path or along the way, a fabulous panorama of the lake whose purity makes it one of the cleanest in the world. We tell you all about our favourite hiking spots

1 - The Taillefer
This is THE hike we recommend to start your stay! Leave on foot from the campsite, towards the village of Duingt, whose castle marks the natural boundary of Lake Annecy: to the north the "large lake", to the south the "small lake". Up there, on the ridge path adorned with a particular vegetation of boxwoods and oaks, you will feel as if you are on a balcony offering in turn multiple viewpoints on the lake, the Tournette, the Roc de Chère or the Parc Naturel des Bauges.

2 - The Bauges massif
The Bauges massif is like a citadel surrounded by mountainous foothills that rise above different valleys. You can see the towns of Chambéry, Montmélian, Albertville, Faverges, Annecy and Aix les Bains. There are numerous hikes in the massif, for all levels and ages. Don't hesitate to ask for advice at the campsite reception.

  1. 3 - La Sambuy
After Doussard, a small village at the end of Lake Annecy, continue towards Faverges and start your hike! The combe de la Sambuy offers several hiking itineraries, all with their own particularities and accessible to adults and children. Discover on this occasion the Bouchasse farm or the petite Sambuy path from which the view is breathtaking on the Massif des Bauges.

4 - Pré-Vernet by Talabar (Le Mont Veyrier)
The Mont Veyrier is the classic hike for the people of Annecy. The walk starts from the edge of the lake in Annecy-le-Vieux and takes place mainly in the forest. It leads halfway up Mont Veyrier and offers some beautiful views of the lake. Count on 2 hours of walking in total and a piece of advice: make a small stop near the small house set in a meadow overlooking the lake. A nice moment guaranteed!

5 - The Roc de Chère
The Roc de Chère is a small mountainous forest massif which juts out into Lake Annecy. The departure of this hike, or rather of this long easy walk of 3 hours maximum from Talloires, is located on the bank opposite the Camping Europa Annecy. You leave for a loop and enjoy an exceptional panorama on the lake.
